Progress

Well, today wasn't a complete bust. Slept until 11am. Organized my cluster of a kitchen that was somewhat destroyed during the holidays. The bonus was I got to put out my new blender & knife set!  Not too shabby, huh?!

Aside from busting my hump in the kitchen for hours today and doing a little laundry, I didn't get my workout in. I'm trying desperately to get all my stuff done before I return to school Wednesday though. I'm hoping once I get this house put back in order my husband and I will be able to tag team it to keep it clean throughout the semester. A girl can have dreams, right?! Here was my Misfit Shine's log for today.

Sadly I didn't hit my goal, but I still feel like I accomplished a lot. I'm already exhausted thinking about tomorrow. We're gonna have to fix the flat my husband acquired on the Jeep while come back from the Birmingham Bowl, put up these Christmas decorations, clean up the dinng room and family room, shop and cook dinner, and hopefully squeeze a gym trip in there too. Whew! This bottle of wine tonight is looking better & better!

I've got to say I'm kind of enjoying putting this blog out there. I haven't really shared it with any of my friends. So, I doubt anyone will read it, but it is making for an amusing evening activity! What can I say?! I'm easily amused!

Now....back to this show my sister-in-law recommended on HBOgo called Getting On.

Procrastination at it's Finest

New Year, New You! Right?! I started this year with procrastination. Like most days, I ended the night before with good intentions for the next day, and inevitably my plans were procrastinated and ultimately left uncompleted. It's hard completing things when you look at this guy sleeping all day...

There he is. The original, the One, the Only, Fat Cat! His name is actually BoJangles (often called BJ or the Beeg). He was appropriately named after a popular fast-food, fried chicken joint. He is often a source of my lack of motivation to do things, many things, any things. Often he calls me fat cat too. I'm sure he means it in the kindest way possible.

I saw a post from my brother-in-law about a new blog he was creating for his cross-fit adventures. I was very excited to read his first post, and even talked myself into creating a blog of my own yesterday. My plan was to log my exercise feats, my weight loss journey, and my favorite healthy recipes that I try. And, by gosh, I was going to start January 2, 2015! Well, here it is 9:20pm, and I am just now starting my blog post.

As far as beginning my workout regime again, I was totally unsuccessful today. I woke up to a rainy and cold day here in Alabama. The house was freezing, and I didn't even drag myself out of bed until 10:00am. I proceeded to enjoy leftover spaghetti with meat sauce from the night before before lying on the couch to watch a couple of movies. During this time span, I succeeded in talking myself out of both going to the gym and the grocery store. Though I see this as a slight failure, since I refuse to actually make New Year's Resolutions, I'm not going to beat myself up about it. I mean. Let's be honest. It is awful hard getting motivated with three animals lying around and napping all day. I did successfully throw together Venison Chili in the Crockpot before becoming a complete sloth.

Tomorrow I hope to be better. Though I still have no plans of going to the gym since my husband is taking our Jeep to the infamous Birmingham Bowl to watch his Florida Gators play, I guess I'll clean off the stuff that's been stacked on my elliptical in the garage and give it a warm-up. I plan on posting my starting measurements as well.

I don't promise to post every day. I'm in nursing school. So, my schedule is quite tight. Hell, I may not even share this with the world really unless some unfortunate soul is lucky enough to stumble upon it. If you're a grammar Nazi, I'm sorry. I'm sure there will be loads of mistakes in these posts. I figure if I can learn to live with Alabama drivers, then you can survive my grammatical errors here and there. So, here goes my blogging adventures of the Fat Cat's Festival of Fun!
